Engagement shoot

On a sunny weekend back in early July I visited West Wittering beach with Holly and Toby to photograph a pre-wedding 'engagement' shoot with them. It was a fantastic day and despite taking a slightly scenic route to the Witterings...

...we made it there in plenty of time to enjoy all of the summer warmth!
It's a great place in the country with a lot of British seaside charm, but luckily for us, very little in the way of British seaside weather. We had all afternoon and never felt rushed or in a hurry so really had the chance to explore the beach, have a paddle and find quieter areas so we could have a variety of photos from fun to romantic!
It was important for Holly and Toby to enjoy themselves, so I tried my best to strike a middle line between being "not there" and giving them direction for each shot (quite tricky when you think about it :). I managed (I hope) and ended up having a great time with them which is exactly how it should be.
It was very funny taking the piggy back shot, with all the water around we had a couple of near misses but Toby was under very strict instructions not to drop his fiancé!
We found some more secluded spots a little further down the beach and away from most of the crowds which meant that we could relax more and we could take some more romantic shots.
These last two are my favourites, the sun was in the perfect place to send a little glare across the lens and that gives the picture a really nice retro feel. After such a brilliant day I can safely say that I'm looking forward to the wedding a great deal!
